Birmingham’s Eurovision Fan Zone

Eurovision fever definitely gripped the nation in 2023. Whilst Liverpool did a fantastic job of hosting the event, Birmingham wanted to ensure that its own local Eurovision fans didn’t miss out on all the fun and delivered a giant free party in Centenary Square on the night of the final.

With all its experience in delivering cultural events for the city, JA Productions was the natural choice to deliver technical production for the fan zone. They worked in tandem with long-term partner OPUS who were responsible for curating the content.

Suppliers to the event included adi.tv who supplied the large screen, with Media Pro providing the branding and Wavelength supporting with audio, lighting and scenic.

The celebration was hosted by Birmingham-based drag artiste Fatt Butcher, it featured music from the brilliant Ukrainian folk-music extraordinaire, Iryna Muha, a Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave and Massaoke, the world’s biggest group sing-along party experience! There was also the opportunity to enjoy the finest food and drink offering from Birmingham street food traders.

Birmingham’s fan zone was one of the best attended outside of Liverpool which proves there’s still a real appetite for community-based events in the region. The team is now looking ahead to Birmingham Festival 2023 in July
